A seal that appears to have the same dimensions may use a different material, profile or pressure duty. Start with the complete parent-unit identity and confirm what the kit must contain.
Send the parent-unit code before ordering a kit.: Include the nameplate, dismantled-part photos, fluid and required kit scope to reduce incomplete or incorrect supply.
Identify the parent unit first
- Manufacturer and complete pump, motor, valve or cylinder code
- Design series, revision and serial or date code
- Original service-part number when available
- Machine and operating fluid
- Previous repair history and failure symptom
Define the requested scope
| Request | Evidence needed | Typical ambiguity |
|---|---|---|
| Complete seal kit | Parent code and expected kit contents | External-only versus full overhaul kit |
| Individual seal | Dimensions, profile, material and location | Similar dimensions but different compound |
| Rotating group | Pump or motor code and matched-part requirement | Mixed unmatched wear components |
| Vane cartridge | Pump family, displacement, rotation and cover | Cartridge fits physically but port timing differs |
Material and fluid checks
- Hydraulic fluid type and additives
- Minimum and maximum temperature
- Pressure and duty cycle
- Compatibility with water-glycol, phosphate ester or biodegradable fluids where applicable
- Storage age and packaging condition for elastomer parts
Inspection before shipment
- Part or kit identity linked to the RFQ line
- Contents laid out and counted when requested
- Critical dimensions or markings photographed
- Sealing surfaces protected from dust and damage
- Material declaration supplied only when genuinely available
Limits of a repair-parts quotation
A correctly identified kit does not prove that the complete unit is economically repairable. Housing, shaft, bearing, valve plate, bore and contamination damage may require additional parts or replacement of the assembly.
Manufacturer names, trademarks, and model numbers are used for identification and cross-reference purposes only. Compatibility must be confirmed for each application.
